ZenAlgo - Squeeze
Squeeze compares normalized basis and delta across several time horizons. It highlights moments when positioning pressure and directional flow align, especially around short- and long-squeeze conditions.
How to read it
Begin with Basis Z and Delta Z. Their relationship shows whether derivatives positioning and directional pressure support one another. Crosses are early information; stronger BEST markers require broader alignment.
The daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and yearly heat lines show whether the condition is local or shared across longer periods. Agreement across more periods increases significance but usually reduces signal frequency.
Lines, dots, and diamonds
| Visual | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Basis Z / Delta Z | Normalized basis and delta |
| Zero and ±2/±3/±4 levels | Neutral baseline and increasingly unusual extremes |
| Up/down triangle | Basis crosses the selected comparison upward or downward |
| Red / orange dot | Short-squeeze continuation or countertrend state |
| Green / purple dot | Long-squeeze continuation or countertrend state |
| Small BEST circle | Two aligned periods |
| BEST diamond | Three or more aligned periods; size grows with agreement |
| No-squeeze BEST diamond | Strong threshold alignment outside a squeeze state |
The table reports each metric's current value and interpreted state. Use it to understand why a marker appeared.
Alerts
| Alert | Meaning |
|---|---|
| BEST UP Diamond >= NORMAL | Bullish BEST alignment reaches at least normal strength |
| BEST DOWN Diamond >= NORMAL | Bearish BEST alignment reaches at least normal strength |
| BEST UP Threshold no squeeze | Bullish threshold alignment outside squeeze |
| BEST DOWN Threshold no squeeze | Bearish threshold alignment outside squeeze |
| Basis vs Chosen CROSS UP | Basis crosses the configured comparison upward |
| Basis vs Chosen CROSS DOWN | Basis crosses it downward |
Cross alerts are useful as early warnings. BEST alerts are more selective confirmation. Individual squeeze dots do not expose separate alerts.
